Triple P Select: Positive Parenting Program

(for parents of children ages 0 to 12)

Dates: Thursdays, September 29, October 6, October 13, 2022 (3 sessions)

Time/Location: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (on ZOOM)

Fee: $35.00 per person or $55.00 per couple

Learn practical strategies to help confidently manage your child's behaviour, prevent problems, and build strong, healthy relationships. Triple P is a research-based parenting program with evidence to show it works.

My Tween and Me

(for parents, along with their child ages 7 to 12) 

Date: Wednesdays, Oct. 12 to Nov. 16, 2022 (6 sessions)

Time/Location: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (in PERSON)

Fee: FREE

My Tween & Me is a facilitated group program that provides parents and their tweens with the knowledge, tools and support they need during the child's transition to adolescence. This program will help build lasting connections and help your tween make safe, healthy choices now and during their teen years.

The Regional Health Authority with the support of Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living is pleased to provide this funding support for the important services/programs provided by the South Winnipeg Family Information Centre.

Circle of Security Parenting

(for parents of children ages 0 to 12)

Dates: Thursdays, Oct. 27 to Dec. 15, 2022 (8 sessions)

Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (on ZOOM)

Fees: $20.00 per person

Children who feel more secure often have increased empathy, healthy self-esteem, positive relationships, and a greater ability to manage their emotions more effectively. Learn new ways to understand, and respond to, your child's needs and behaviours, that help to increase the emotional security of your children. The

Nobody's Perfect

(for parents of children ages 0 to 6)

Date: Tuesdays, Nov. 15 to Dec. 6, 2022 (4 sessions)

Time/Location: 9:30 am to 11:30 am (in PERSON)

Fee: FREE (supported by the Healthy Child Coalition)

Meet with other parents of young children, share questions, concerns and ideas about being a parent, learn about child development, safety, health & behaviour, discuss real-life parenting solutions, and discover positive ways of parenting. Childminding provided.

Parenting Strategies and ADHD

(for parents of children ages 5 to 12 with ADHD*)

Dates: Mondays, Nov. 7 - Dec. 5, 2022 (5 sessions)

Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (on ZOOM)

Fees: $55.00 per person / $75.00 per couple

Explore parenting strategies such as effective communication, and positive approaches to discipline to strengthen your relationship with your child. Topics include: teaching new skills, defining rules, responding to challenging behaviour consistently, planning for potentially difficult situations, encouraging positive behaviour, and being an advocate for your child's needs.

Dads Matter

(for dads)

Dates: Tuesdays, Nov. 22 - Dec. 13, 2022 (4 sessions)

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (on ZOOM)

Fees: FREE

Join us for a live, interactive meeting on Zoom every Tuesday evening to connect with other parents and discuss parenting challenges and fatherhood. There will be a focus on "Things Dads Do," the importance of fathers in the lives of children, and ways to have fun with your child at their different ages and stages.

Rent Smart Basics is a course designed to help you learn important skills to build your knowledge and confidence to find and keep housing. You'll learn important tools to understand what it means to have a successful tenancy: paying your rent, peaceful enjoyment, and looking after your home.
